What A Fun Week!

Monday/Tuesday...
Linda, Ryan and Madelyn were off to Hershey Park in Hershey, PA. We had a fantastic time with Aunt Connie and friends; Lisa, Brian and Erin. We rode roller coasters and rides until we dropped and then went back the next day. The lines were short and the kids would come off the rides shouting "let's ride that again!" Everyone enjoyed tasting in Chocolate World. We cannot wait to go back.

Wednesday...
Home for a day.

Thursday...
The kids and I packed the car again and we were off to Williamsburg, VA to Great Wolf Lodge. We met Lisa, Brian and Erin for some fun in the sun.

Friday...
After leaving Great Wolf Lodge in the late afternoon we drove to Richmond, VA to attend qualifying for the SunTrust Indy Challenge and driver autograph session. We were excited to meet up with Kurt after he had worked all week. Madelyn enjoyed sharing her blue raspberry icy with Dario Franchitti (Team Target) who had won the #1 spot in qualifying. Ryan talked it up with his favorite driver Ryan Briscoe (Team Penske). I must say these two gentleman are my favorite drivers for always taking extra time to interact with the kids.

Saturday...
From our room on the 16th floor in the River District we overlooked the Govenor's Mansion and James River. The Canal was built under the direction of George Washington beginning in 1784. The history and architechutre in this part of town was a lession in itself for us.

We had time before the race so we went to the Science Museum of Virginia. Many of the hands on exhibits reinforced Ryan's science lessions from this past school year.

Our IndyCar experiences always includes the McIntosh's; Mark, Lisa, Ethan and Samantha.

Both Penske drivers did not finish the race after individually crashing into the safety barriers. Our diehard Penske fans, Mark and Ryan, were disappointed. Lisa was happy with a 1,2 Team Target win.
Sunday...
Home at 2am. A day of rest.

Mixed Feelings

Missing Pop today (and everyday, but especially today.) How sad we feel in our hearts. Not a day passes that we don't think about and mention Pop by name. He left us with such great memories of times spent together. We thought about what Pop would want for us today and decided Pop would want us to spend the day together celebrating dads and family. We love you Pop.

Off to the lake...

for picnicing...

swimming...
Aunt Connie is visiting too.

napping...

playing with grandma's hat...

fishing...

Papa, Kurt and Ryan fished while the girls hung out at the beach. After there nap they showed Madelyn how to fish.

Madelyn declared, "I caught you some sushi dad" as she flung her first fish out of the water and over her head.

Madelyn was quite excited when she caught another fish just a few minutes later.
Happy Father's Day!
