Like Father, Like Son

Kurt and I returned from Kansas this week after a visit with Kurt's parents, Ray (aka Sonny, Pop, Papa) and Julie. Kurt spend the week by his dad's side in the hospital. Pop continues to fight his diagnosis of lung cancer with a new round of chemo. We were blessed to have this time with Pop. He is a remarkable man and continues to amaze all of us with his determination and fortitude. Attached is a picture from an earlier visit.

Christmas Morning

Ryan woke up early and had to wait for Madelyn. Those that know Madelyn know the girl likes to sleep. So it turned out to be a long wait for the rest of us. Santa made a special delivery and everyone was surprised to wake up with Aunt Connie visiting. Even Grandma and Grandpa were surprised. The holiday felt a bit abbreviated. Before we went to bed we took down the tree and prepared to leave for Kansas.

Madelyn's favorite gifts...Breyer Horses, Fancy Nancy doll and anything made by Grandma

Ryan's favorite gifts...Pittsburgh Steelers jersey/sweatshirt/t-shirt and hockey tickets with Pop

Where have the days gone?

As I sit down to try and catch up on this blog I realize two months have past since the last entry. During this time our family has laughed until it hurt, cried many tears, gathered together and went our ways home again (several times), celebrated holidays and birthdays, mourned the loss of life and gained an appreciation for surgical advancements. Through all of the ups and downs our families stay strong together. We have spent day after day on long distance phone calls and email keeping our families in touch. What did we do before Blackberry?

I am going to attempt to get caught up with my Blogging as I am now getting lots of requests for new pics. So check back soon.....
